The sizes
| Where | Image | Size, px | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| itch.io | Cover | 630 × 500 | Shown in search and on the home page. An animated GIF works and plays on hover; keep it small, around 3 MB. |
| Screenshots | 1920 × 1080 | Large images are fine; ours stay within 3840 × 2160. | |
| Gumroad | Cover | 1280 × 720 | Up to 8 covers; PNG, JPG, GIF or MOV. Later covers follow the height of the first. |
| Thumbnail | square, 600 × 600 | Used in the profile and Discover grids. | |
| Unity Asset Store | Icon | 160 × 160 | No text. |
| Card | 420 × 280 | Only the asset title and the publisher name or logo. | |
| Cover | 1950 × 1300 | Title, publisher and a tagline. | |
| Social media | 1200 × 630 | No text. | |
| Fab | Gallery | 16:9, e.g. 1920 × 1080 | Check the exact limits in the upload form. |
| CGTrader | Previews | 16:9 or 3:2, 1920 px wide or more | CGTrader suggests many previews; 15–25 is common for packs. |
| YouTube | Thumbnail | 1280 × 720 | 16:9. |
| Shorts, TikTok, Reels | Video and cover | 1080 × 1920 | Keep text away from the bottom and right edges, where the app draws its buttons. |
| Link previews | Open Graph image | 1200 × 630 | What X, Discord and messengers show for a link. |
Unity’s rules on text
Unity is the strictest: the icon and the social image must have no text, the card can carry only the title and publisher, and the cover may add a tagline. Images must not be blurry, stretched or cropped, and can’t be only screenshots of the Unity Editor. Unity also asks for different designs per size, so the small icon stays readable.
What makes buyers click
- Show everything that’s in the pack on the cover. If the title says 30 animals, buyers want to count 30.
- Show the motion. If the models are animated, say it on the cover and use a GIF where the store allows it.
- Big, short title. Covers are seen at thumbnail size first; test yours at 300 px wide.
- One look across stores. Same colours and layout everywhere, so people recognise the pack when they meet it again.
- The formats line (FBX · GLB · BLEND) answers the first question before it’s asked.
The Listing Kit lays out one scene for all of these sizes and switches text off where a store forbids it.
